Mohamed Abou Basha is a dynamic leader in Egyptian agriculture and business. He serves as the Vice Chairman of Maba, a prominent agricultural company founded in 1983 by Agronomist Mokhtar Abou Basha.

 

Mohamed graduated in 2008 from Acadia University in Canada with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. He gained practical experience in the stone fruit and potato industries in Italy, providing him with valuable insight into the core of his family’s business. He furthered his agricultural business education in the Netherlands, earning relevant certifications.

At Maba, Mohamed has been instrumental in the company’s significant growth and diversification. He has spearheaded initiatives to enhance export capabilities by identifying and pursuing new markets, including Southeast Asia and Russia. Mohamed has also diversified Maba’s operations to include nurseries specializing in protected sweet potato slips and a variety of tropical fruits. Maba’s subsidiary, ‘El Genina,’ under his guidance, specializes in the design and installation of landscaping for residential and commercial properties, offering unique tropical plants.
